Ingredients:

3 large onions, chopped
3 tbsp olive oil
900g beef, sliced into strips
salt and freshly-ground black pepper, to taste
250ml white wine
225g bacon, chopped
600ml sour cream
75g fresh marjoram, chopped

Method:

Heat the oil in a pan and use to fry the onions until golden (about 10 minutes). Add the meat and season with the marjoram, salt and black pepper. Fry for about 5 minutes, or until the meat is browned then add the wine. Bring the mixture to a simmer, add a lid and cook for about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, fry the bacon in a separate pan until crisp. Take off the heat and stir into the beef mixture after the 15 minutes' cooking time are up. Now stir the sour cream into the beef mixture. Bring to a simmer and cook gently (do not allow to boil) for 30 minutes. Serve hot on a bed of rice or pasta.
