This is a continuation of an entire series of pages that will, I hope, allow my visitors to better navigate this site. As well as displaying recipes by name, country and region of origin I am now planning a whole series of pages where recipes can be located by meal type and main ingredient. This page gives a listing of all the Tabasco recipes added to this site.

These recipes, all contain Tabasco as a major wild food ingredient.

Tabasco is a a brand of hot sauce made from tabasco peppers (Capsicum frutescens var. tabasco), vinegar, and salt, and aged in white oak barrels for three years. It has a hot, spicy flavour and is popular in many parts of the world. It is the trademarked brand name for the Tabasco sauces manufactured by the McIlhenny Company of Avery Island, Louisiana.

The original version of Tabasco is the red sauce made of tabasco chillies but other varieties now on the market include a milder green Tabasco sauce made from jalapeño peppers and green peppers. A few drops of Tabasco are enough to add a chilli tang to a wide range of foods.
