Ingredients:
6 tbsp groundnut oil
6 thin slices of onion
1kg rice
500ml water
salt, to taste
Method:
Heat the oil in a large pan, add the onion slices and fry for about 4 minutes, or until golden brown and aromatic.
Wash the rice thoroughly, then stir into the pan with 500ml water.
Season lightly with salt, bring to a simmer, cover the pan and cook over medium heat for about 12 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
