This Swedish Kebab Pizza (Kebabpizza) is a Friday night favourite in Sweden. It combines a thin, crispy crust with tomato sauce, mozzarella, kebab meat, and fresh veggies, all finished with a signature creamy garlic and chilli kebab sauce

If you want to prepare your own kebab meat, then see the: Tavuk Döner recipe for chicken and the Turkish Dürüm recipe for lamb/beef.

Ingredients:

For the pizza base:
1/2 batch perfect pizza dough
120ml pizza sauce
150g grated mozzarella cheese

Toppings:
200g kebab meat (beef, lamb, or chicken, thinly sliced)
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1 fresh tomato, cut into wedges
Shredded iceberg lettuce
Optional: Pickled yellow pepperoncini peppers (fefferoni) [these are the pickled green or yellow peppers typically seen in kebab shops]

Sauces:
White Garlic Sauce:
120ml Greek or Turkish yoghurt
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp mayonnaise
pinch of salt

Red Kebab Sauce:
120ml crushed tomatoes
1 tsp chilli flakes
1/2 tsp red wine vinegar
pinch of salt

Method:

Prepare the white and red sauces. Simply whisk the ingredients for each sauce together in a bowl. Spoon into individual squeezy bottles, cover wth the nozzles then store in the refrigerator until needed.

Pre-heat your oven to its highest setting then put in a bakestone or an inverted baking tray to heat up.

Prepare the pizza dough according to the recipe then roll or stretch the dough until very thin.

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, followed by a generous layer of mozzarella. Top the cheese with the sliced kebab

Transfer the pizza onto your preheated stone/tray. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes until the crust is golden-brown and the cheese is bubbling

Remove the pizza from the oven. Immediately top the hot pizza with shredded iceberg lettuce, red onion, and tomato wedges.

Drizzle the cold white and red kebab sauces all over the top, add pepperoncini (if using), and enjoy warm.
