Hambúrger (Brazilian-style Burgers): A Brazilian recipe for a meat patty made from a blend of beef, onion, garlic, parsley and hot chilli bound with egg that's fried to cook and served in a bun.
Ingredients:
600g minced (ground) beef
1/2 medium onion, grated
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 hot chilli, minced
1 egg
salt and freshly-ground black pepper, to taste
Method:
Combine the beef, onion, garlic, parsley, chilli and 1 egg in a bowl. Season to taste with salt and black pepper then mix thoroughly with your fingers until all the ingredients are completely combined.
Line an 800g tin with clingfilm (plastic wrap) and grease with oil. Stuff the burger mixture into this, packing it well. Place in the freezer for 3 hours. After this time, use the clingfilm to extract the burger mix from the tin. Using a serrated blade slice into 2cm thick rounds.
Use your fingers to press the burgers out so that they are larger than the bun your are going to use.
Heat olive oil in a frying pan, add the burgers and fry for about 12 minutes, turning half way through, or until nicely browned and cooked through.
