Add all the ingredients to a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until nicely thickened. Allow to cool then store in the refrigerator until needed.
This makes a wonderful accompaniment to cold meats and game. It also works well with oily fish such as mackerel.
