Ingredients:

1 large yam

Method:

Peel the yam and cut into 3cm cubes. Bring a large pan of lightly-salted water to a boil, add the yam pieces and boil for about 30 minutes, or until the yam pieces are soft enough for a fork to easily pierce them.

Drain the yam and serve hot as an accompaniment to stew, eggs, beans and so forth.
