Ingredients:

4 large onions, cut into 6mm slices
100ml milk
60g plain flour
salt and freshly-ground black pepper
oil for deep frying

Method:

Add the oil to a deep fryer, wok or deep pan and heat to 180°C. When ready season the flour and add to a plate.

Separate the onions into rings then dip first in the milk and then in the flour before dropping in the hot oil. Fry the onion rings, in batches, for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper, season and serve immediately.
