Angelica root tea is a traditional herbal remedy often used for digestive and respiratory support. Because the root fibres are dense, they require a gentle simmer to extract their properties effectively.
Ingredients:
1–2 tsp of dried angelica root, crushed in a mortar
260ml water
honey, to taste
lemon, to taste
Method:
Combine the water and angelica root in a small, lidded, saucepan.
Bring to a gentle boil, reduce to a simmer then cover the pan and cook for 10–15 minutes.
Strain the liquid through a fine-meshed sieve into a cup.
