Ayran (Turkish Buttermilk) is a traditional Turkmen (from Turkmenistan) recipe for a drink of herbed yoghurt diluted with milk and water. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Turkmen version of: Turkish Buttermilk.
Tip the water into a bowl and beat with a whisk until smooth. Gradually add the milk and whisk to combine then beat in the herbs before stirring-in the iced water. Add the salt and beat once more.
