Nasi Trafasie (Surinamese Fried Rice) is a traditional Surinamese recipe for a classic dish of chicken fried rice with classic Surinamese flavourings. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Surinamese version of: Surinamese Fried Rice (Nasi Trafasie).

Ingredients:
400g Basmati rice
sunflower oil
3 eggs
1 onion
300g chicken breast fillets, diced
50g garden peas (frozen)
1 small leek, sliced thinly
1 tin (150 g) sweetcorn kernels, drained
4 tbsp Sos Nasi Trafasie
½ tsp Trassie Trafasie
2 tsp tomato purée
2 celery sticks
Method:
Prepare basmati rice according to the packet instructions then drain, fluff and set aside.
Place a wok or deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot add 1 tbsp sunflower oil, along with the eggs. Stir-fry for a few minutes until cooked and then remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
Add an additional 5 tablespoons sunflower oil to the pan and use to fry the onion for about 8 minutes, until lightly browned. Mow add the diced chicken fillet and cook for about 10 minutes until cooked through.
Add the peas, leek and corn kernels and stir-fry for 4 minutes.
Now stir in the Nasi Trafasie, Trassie Trafasie and tomato puree, stir-frying the ingredients for 2 minutes. Add the cooked Basmati rice and continue frying for 5 minutes, stirring constantly; then return the stir-fried eggs to the pan and stir to combine.
