Kulu'wa (Eritrean Chopped Meat)

Ingredients:

3 tbsp butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1 x 400g tin whole tomatoes, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1/2 tbsp Berbere spice
500g stewing steak, finely cubed
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Method:

Fry the onions in the butter for 5 minutes then add the tomato, garlic and berbere spice. Add the meat and cook for 10 minutes. Season then cook for a further 15 minutes, or until the meat is tender.

Serve with Taita.
