Barbecued Tofu is a modern Fusion recipe for a classic vegetarian dish of marinated tofu pieces that are cooked on the barbecue. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Fusion version of: Tofu.
Carefully slice the tofu lengthways into four equal sized pieces (tofu fillets).
In a bowl, whisk together the mirin, tamari, ginger and cayenne pepper. Pour a little of this marinade into the base of a flat-bottomed dish then arrange the tofu slices on top.
Marinate the tofu mixture in this for at least 60 minutes (over night in the refrigerator is best).
To cook, drain the tofu fillets, place on a hot barbecue and cook for a few minutes per side, or until heated through and coloured golden brown.
