Alas a la Mostaza (Chicken Wings with Mustard): A Spanish recipe for a snack of chicken wings cooked with spring onions in a soy sauce, ketchup and hot mustard sauce.
Ingredients
12 chicken wings
1 bunch of spring onions (white parts only)
1 tbsp soy sauce
60ml ketchup
1 tbsp hot mustard
2 tsp sugar
oil for frying
salt, to taste
Method:
Wash the wings, pat dry, then cut off the tips. Heat oil in a pan, add the chicken wings and half the spring onions and fry, stirring frequently, until the chicken is nicely browned all over.
In a bowl, mix together the tomato ketchup with the soy sauce, mustard, sugar and salt. Pour this mixture over the chicken wings, add the remaining spring onions and continue cooking until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is tender.
