Zamné Sauté (Soumbala Rice) is a traditional Burkinabe recipe (from Burkina Faso) for a classic dish of boiled lentils fried with meat, onions and chilli. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Burkinabe version of: Fried Zamne (Zamné Sauté).
If your lentils are dry, soak over night then cook for 30 minutes, until tender but still whole. Strain in a sieve and set aside.
Place a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the oil and use to brown the meat and onions for 5-10 minutes. Add the cooked lentils and the minced chilli, stir well to combine, and continue cooking for 5 minutes more.
