Ingredients:
For each pair of sandwiches:
2 slices of whole-grain bread
3 slices of ham, pastrami, salami (or your favourite cold meat)
2 thin slices of cheese (use processed cheese if you like)
2 tbsp mayonnaise (or your favourite sandwich dressing)
2 lettuce leaves
black icing (or white icing for brown or dark rye bread)
Method:
Cut the bread slices into hexagonal (six-sided) coffin shapes (easiest done if you put the bread slices on top of each other so the top and bottom pieces match). You should get two coffins shapes from each slice of bread.
Layer with the ham, cheese, sandwich dressing and lettuce. Carefully insert a toothpick to hold the sandwich together then use black icing to write the letters R.I.P. down the front of each 'coffin' sandwich. To serve, arrange the sandwiches standing up on a bed of lettuce (this way they look spookier and the letters are visible).
