Rakott Krumpli (Layered Potatoes) is a traditional Hungarian recipe for a classic dish of potatoes layered with sliced eggs, cooked sausages and sour cream that's topped with breadcrumbs and oven baked until cooked through. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Hungarian version of: Layered Potatoes (Rakott Krumpli).
Fry the bacon until it renders its fat then stir-in the sausage and cook until browned (about 8 minutes). Remove from the heat and set aside.
Lightly grease a baking pan and place a layer of potatoes in the base. Top with some of the sausage and bacon mix then add a few slices of egg before topping with 1/4 of the sour cream. Repeat the layering process, finishing with a layer of potatoes.
Top with the breadcrumbs then transfer to an oven pre-heated to 180°C and bake for 40 minutes, or until heated through and golden. Serve hot.
