Ingredients:

250g coarse cornmeal flour
50g sugar
hot water to mix
oil to fry

Method:

Mix the flour and sugar together then add just enough hot water to form a soft but solid cough. Leave to rest for 15 minutes then divide into eight pieces and roll each piece into pencil-thin rounds and cut into 5cm lengths.

Fry in hot oil until golden brown, drain on kitchen paper and serve cold.
