Kan kan kan is a very popular spice blend, originating from Burkina Faso. It consists of peanut powder, chilli powder, allspice and crushed Maggi bouillon cubes. All the ingredients are ground in order to obtain a mixture of spices which is generally used to season various grilled meat dishes.

Ingredients:

120g peanut powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp ground allspice
2 tsp powdered bouillon, or 1 vegetable bouillon cube, crumbled

Method:

Simply combine all the ingredients in a mortar and grind with a pestle to a fine powder.

Spoon into a jar and store in a cool, dry, place.

This is typically served sprinkled over grilled meats.
