Ingredients:

420g plain flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
360ml beer (your choice, but the flavour of the beer will be the basis for the flavour of the final loaf)
40g brown sugar
6 tbsp savoury herbs, chopped

Method:

Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl. Pour in the beer and stir just enough to moisten the flour mix then fold in the herbs. Immediately turn the batter into a greased loaf tin then transfer to an oven pre-heated to 175°C and bake for 60 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown on top.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely. When ready, slice and serve with jam.
