What’s better than a fondue for Valentine’s day.. a dish that’s traditionally meant for sharing. The traditional chocolate fondue is given a lift by the addition of a coffee liqueur or espresso martini in this recipe, giving it a more adult edge.
Ingredients:
3 tbsp whipping cream, plus 1 tsp
2 tbsp espresso martini or chocolate liqueur
30g (1 oz) coffee chocolate
30g (1 oz) dark chocolate amaretti biscuits, raspberries, halved strawberries and mango cubes, for dipping
Method:
Combine the 3 tbsp cream and espresso martini in a small saucepan, mix well and warm over a low heat until it just starts to bubble around the edges.
Immediately take off the heat and stir through the chocolate until melted (return to a very low heat to help it melt fully, if necessary). Transfer to a small heatproof bowl set over a pan of just boiled water to keep the mixture warm and molten.
Drizzle with the final 1 tsp of cream and swirl with a spoon. Serve with the fruit and amaretti biscuits, for dipping.
