Ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
50g flour
500ml milk
1 tbsp hot pepper sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp mixed red and black pepper
Method:
Melt the butter in a pan and stir-in the flour until smooth. Add the milk and beat until smooth. Add the seasonings and cook for 1 minute. You can either keep cooking the gravy for a further 10 minutes to serve with cornbread or you can add fried onions and mushrooms before cooking for a further 10 minutes.
This gravy also makes an excellent sauce for pork chops, spicy sausages or any strong meat.
