Bangers with Sweet and Sour Mash is a traditional British recipe for a classic dish of pork sausages served with mash flavoured with sweet chilli sauce and served with onion and sweet and sour sauce gravy. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic British version of: Cinder Toffee.
Grill or fry the sausage until cooked through then place in an oven to keep warm. Prepare the potatoes then mash with the spring onions, butter and sweet chilli sauce. Place in a dish and set aside in the oven to keep warm.
Melt a little butter in a pan, add the onion and fry for about 5 minutes, or until soft but not coloured. Add the sweet and sour sauce, bring to a simmer and continue cooking until thick and sticky.
To serve, arrange the mash on a plate, place the sausages on top then spoon over the sweet and sour onions.
