Mushaari is a traditional Somali recipe for a classic yeasted flatbread with onion powder and garlic that is a Somali staple. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Somali version of: Mushaari.

Ingredients:
250ml of milk
1 tbsp butter
120g of sorghum flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
600ml of water
Salt, to taste
1 tsp ground black pepper
Method:
Combine the water and milk in a cooking pot and simmer until the mixture comes to a boil. Add the sugar and black pepper then stir to combine.
Sift the sorghum flour into a bowl. Slowly add water until you have a thick but pourable paste. Pour this into the cooking pot and cook, stirring constantly with a cooking stick for 3 minutes.
Add the olive oil, butter, and salt as you stir. Leave to cook for about 10 minutes more.
Taste and adjusts the seasonings as desired.
Serve while hot. Add a drizzle of olive oil to each bowl while serving.
