Many recommend soaking starchy potatoes in a large bowl of water for 15 minutes prior to cooking. I always wash my potatoes under running water after slicing. I’ve tried cooking them straight away and after soaking. However, I’ve cooked them both ways and found little difference. Indeed, pre-heating your air fryer makes much more difference to the crispness of the final roasties.

Ingredients:

335g (3/4 lbs) potatoes cut into 3cm (1 in) chunks
1 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp garlic powder or granules
1/2 tsp sea salt (or to taste)
1/8 tsp freshly-ground black pepper

Method:

Pre-heat your air fryer to 195°C (380°F) for about five minutes (you don’t have to do this, but it will result in crisper potatoes.

In a large bowl, toss the potato pieces with olive oil, smoked paprika and garlic granules, then season with salt and freshly-ground black pepper. Make sure that the potatoes are well coated.

Place in your Air Fryer basket, and roast for 10 minutes. Flip the potatoes, and roast for 10 more minutes.
