Breaded fish works wonderfully well in the air fryer and this recipe is meant as part of a fish and chips supper.
Ingredients:
450g (1 lb) cod, cut into 4 strips
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
65g (1/2 cup) plain flour
1 large egg, beaten
200g (7 oz) panko bread crumbs (or plain breadcrumbs)
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
Lemon wedges, for serving Tartar sauce, for serving
Method:
Pat the fish dry and season on both sides with salt and freshly-ground black pepper.
Place flour, beaten egg, and panko in three shallow bowls. Add Old Bay seasoning to the panko and toss to combine. Working one at a time, coat fish first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing to coat.
Working in batches, place the fish in the basket of your air fryer and cook at 200°C (400°F) for 10 to 12 minutes, gently flipping halfway through, or until fish is golden and flakes easily with a fork.
Serve accompanied by the lemon wedges and tartar sauce.
