Pwdin Nadolig Bwthyn (Cottage Christmas Pudding) is a classic Cymric (Welsh) pudding. A slightly cheaper version of the classic Christmas pudding that was made and served by poorer families; though no less delicious because of that. The main difference being that no treacle or stout were used, so the pudding is paler. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Welsh version of Cottage Christmas Pudding.

Combine the flour, breadcrumbs, suet, currants, raisins, sugar, mixed peel and carrots together. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Turn the mixture onto a clean cloth and tie tightly. Place in a large pan and boil for 6 hours, until done. Continue topping-up the water as you cook to ensure that the pan does not boil dry.
