Yarrow tea is one of the most flavoursome of all the wild plant tisanes that you can make. It used to be very popular right up to the 1940s but has fallen out of favour. Once you taste this tea you will never understand why you did not make it before.

Ingredients:

2 or 3 fresh (or dried) yarrow leaves per cup of water
lemon slices
honey or sugar

Method:

Warm your teapot, add the yarrow leaves then pour boiling water over the top. Cover and set aside to infuse for 4 minutes. Strain into teacups, add a slice of lemon and sweeten to taste with honey or sugar.

This is a very refreshing tisane and if you dry your own yarrow leaves (simply cut fresh and hang up in your kitchen until dry) you can make this all year round.
