Cream together the butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy then fold in the milk and vanilla extract.
Typically this is used to decorate sponge cakes, fairy cakes and biscuits (cookies) but it can be used for fruit cakes if you add the finely-grated zest of 1 lime and 1 orange into the basic mix.
