Tirk Trey Chu P'em (Sweet Fish Sauce) a Classic Cambodian recipe for a sweet dipping sauce made from a syrup base with lime juice, garlic, chillies and fish sauce blended with crushed peanuts that's typically served with fish dishes.
Ingredients:
60ml hot water
4 tbsp sugar
80ml freshly-squeezed lime juice
80ml fish sauce
3 hot chillies, chopped (or to taste)
2 garlic cloves, minced
5 tbsp roasted peanuts, crushed
Method:
Stir together the hot water and sugar in a small bowl, until the sugar has dissolved. Now add the lime juice, fish sauce, chilli and garlic.
Mix thoroughly then set aside to cool. Top with the crushed, roasted, peanuts and serve.
