Here is a classic green-coloured banana-based smoothie that works as well for St Patrick's day as it does for Halloween.

Ingredients:

1 large, ripe, banana, diced
2 kiwi fruit, peeled and diced
100g crushed ice
3 tbsp apple juice
a few drops of green food colouring

Method:

Combine the banana chunks, kiwi fruit, ice and apple juice in a blender and process until smooth.

Add a few drops of food colouring (enough to give your preferred shade of green) then divide between two tall glasses and serve immediately.
