Mix the flour, ground almonds and baking powder together in a bowl. Add the butter and cut into the flour mixture until the mix resembles fine breadcrumbs. Now add all the remaining ingredients and and mix until your get a firm dough.
Tip onto a floured surface and roll to about 1.5 to 2 cm thick. Cut with a pastry cutter or a knife into biscuit shapes then place on an ungreased baking tray and place in an oven pre-heated to 190°C. Cook for between 20 and 25 minutes, until the biscuits become a nice golden brown in colour.
These are best served hot topped with jam and butter. They can also be eaten cold, spread with marmalade as an accompaniment to coffee.
