Also known as prik nam pla (or phrik ham pla) is
the classic Thai condiment. The recipe for it is simple, just sliced birds' eye chillies floating in fish sauce. This is served as an accompaniment or dipping sauce at virtually every Thai meal and no meal is truly complete without it.
Ingredients:
For each Serving:
4 tbsp fish sauce (nam pla)
3 or 4 green birds' eye chillies
Method:
Using a sharp knife, slice the birds' eye chillies into thin rounds. Scrape the chilli rounds (and seeds) into a dipping bowl.
Add the fish sauce and serve to accompany each place setting.
