Labaniyad (Somali Custard) is a traditional Somali recipe for a classic custard made from milk and vanilla pudding mix that's cooked, flavoured with cardamom powder and chilled before serving. Combine the milk, cardamom powder and pudding mix in non-stick pan. Whisk to combine then place over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, whisking constantly.
Take off the heat and pour the custard into a serving bowl then set aside until cold (about 40 minutes). Transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 60 minutes before serving.
