Hollyhock flowers, leaves and cheeses (unripe seed pods) are all edible, just as with other members of the Malvaceae family of plants. The flowers can also be used both fresh and dried to make a soothing floral tea. The exact colour of the tea will depend on the colour of the flowers.

Ingredients:

4 hollyhock flowers
500ml boiling water
honey, to taste (optional)

Method:

Pick the petals from the hollyhock flowers.

Take a small teapot, pour in some boiling water then swirl the pot to warm. Discard the water.

Pack the picked hollyhock flowers into the pot, then pour over the boiling water. Set aside to steep for 10-15 minutes.

Pour the resultant infusion into two cups. Sweeten with honey, if desired.
