This is the classic Libyan 'five spice' blend that's traditionally used as a flavouring to many Libyan soups.

Method:

Heat a large non-stick frying pan then add the spices and dry-fry, whilst stirring continually, until the spices release their aromatic fragrance (about 4 minutes). Transfer to a coffee grinder and render to a fine powder.

Store in an air-tight jar.
