Ingredients:
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp yeast
500ml warm water
800g plain flour
salt
1 egg, beaten
500ml vegetable oil
Method:
Mix the sugar, yeast and water together and place in a warm place until it begins to froth. Sift together the flour and salt and add the egg. Mix together then add the yeast mixture and allow to raise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
Heat the oil in a wok and drop the dough by the tablespoonful into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, turning once. Remove with a slotted spoon and allow to drain on paper towels.
