Chocolate Frozen Yoghurt is a traditional American recipe for a classic frozen yoghurt made from a sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla and natural yoghurt mix thickened with cornflour and flavoured with dark chocolate that's churned in an ice cream maker. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic American version of: Chocolate Frozen Yoghurt.
Combine the sugar and cornflour in pan then add the milk and whisk to combine. Place over medium heat and cook until thickened and just bubbling. Take off the heat then allow to cool to room temperature before adding the vanilla extract and yoghurt. Place the mixture in the refrigerator and chill for 2 hours.
Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie (double boiler) and whilst the chocolate is still hot pour very slowly into the chilled yoghurt mixture and stir gently to combine. Pour the mixture into the bowl of an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
