Place the milk in a pan and scald (heat until bubbles start forming around the edges) then take off the heat. Add the sugar and salt and stir until dissolved before adding the cream, vanilla and whipping cream. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes then pour the mixture into the bowl of an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Once you have a chilled soft ice cream add the chocolate chip dough. Simply break-up the dough as best as you can with your hands and drop in small clusters into the ice cream. Mix through the ice cream as best you can then place the mixture in the freezer to harden.
