An air fryer cooks quicker and is generally cheaper than using a conventional oven. It also enables the hot temperature that a good Yorkshire pudding requires to raise. It also means that if you are making roasties (roast potatoes) and veg you do not need to remove them from your oven to prepare the Yorkshire pudding.
Ingredients:
Vegetable oil (enough to cover the base of your roasting dish)
1 large egg
50g (1/4 cup) plain flour
50ml (1/5 cup) milk
Pinch each of sea salt and freshly-ground black pepper
Method:
Pre-heat the air fryer to 220°C (440°F) for 10 minutes. Find the largest oven-proof dish you have that will fit the air fryer and drizzle liberally with oil (a cake tin is good). Place in the air fryer and allow to heat up for 5 minutes.
In a jug or bowl, beat together the egg, milk, four and seasonings until smooth. Allow the batter to rest for 10 minutes then pour into the heated dish in the air fryer, close and cook for 20 minutes until well risen and golden.
Carefully remove the Yorkshire pudding from the air fryer, cut into portions and serve.
