Yes, you can cook eggs in an air fryer, and unlike in the microwave they won’t explode (unless you use a ridiculously high temperature). Now it’s not true boiling as you aren’t using water for the cooking, but by holding the air fryer temperature to 120C (just above the temperature of boiling water) you will get a similar effect. Now, you can eat the eggs as boiled eggs straight away, but if you are making hard boiled or soft yolk eggs you can plunge them in a water bath. This makes them easy to peel then you can slice or keep whole and use in other recipes. I am taking a serving here to be two eggs per person. Adjust as you need/see fit.

Ingredients:

8 fresh eggs

Method:

Load the eggs into the air fryer basket, making sure none of them are cracked. Set the temperature to 120°C (250°F) and cook for between 10 minutes (soft boiled with runny yolks) and 16 minutes (hard boiled).

You can serve the eggs immediately as breakfast boiled eggs.

However, if you want the eggs for other recipes cook them for 13 minutes (soft yolks) or 16 minutes (hard yolks). When the air fryer beeps quickly remove the eggs and place them in a cold jug of water (this both cools them and makes them easier to peel).

One by one peel the eggs. I typically tap on a work surface then roll the egg with my palm to crack the shell all away around the middle.

Note that the cooking time will vary if you are using a low performing air fryer or if your eggs are a different size. I recommend you play about with the cook times to get your perfect air fryer eggs.
