Curwch yr ymenyn mewn powlen i’w feddalu ac yna gogryn y blawd drosto a’i weithio i fewn iddo.
Ychwanegwch y siwgr a’r blawd reis at y gymysgedd a’i dylino’n does llyfn.
Rhannwch y does yn bedwar darn a llunio torth gron, fflat o bob un ohonynt.
Crychwch ymyl y torthau â bys a bawd, eu brathu’n ysgafn â blaen fforc a’u crasu ar dun ymyl-isel (neu hambwrdd pobi) mewn ffwrn weddol boeth (180C) am ryw hanner awr.
English Translation
This is a traditional rustic shortbread incorporating rice flour as well as wholemeal flour that, traditionally, was served to the guests at a Noswaith Lawen (Merry Evening).
Ingredients:
225g (8 oz) butter
335g (12 oz) wholemeal flour
115g (4 oz) rice flour
225g (8 oz) sugar
Method:
Cream the butter in a bowl until soft, sift the wholemeal flour over it and work it into the butter.
Add the sugar and rice flour and knead well to a soft dough.
Divide the dough into four equal parts and shape into flat rounds.
Prick the surfaces lightly with a fork and pinch the edge of each one with a thumb and forefinger.
Place on a shallow tin or baking tray and bake in a moderately hot oven (180C/355F) for approximately half an hour.
