Cynhwysion:

225g o gocos Penclawdd (heb eu cregin), wedi eu coginio
2 dafell drwchus o facwn wedi ysmygu, wedi eu tafallu'n stribedi
1 nionyn canolig wedi torri'n fân
4 o datws cwyriod, wedi eu berwi, eu picio a'u torri'n giwbiau bychan
300ml o stoc pysgod
300ml o lefrith
30g o fenyn
persli, wedi torri
halen a phupur du, at flas

Dull:

Toddwch y menyn mewn sosban drwchus yna ychwanegwch y nionyn a'r bacwn, gan eu ffrio nes yn feddal (tua 6 munud). Ychwanegwch y darnau tatws, y stoc pysgod a'r llefrith gan ddod a'r cyfan i fudferwi. Coginiwch yn ysgafn am chwarter awr dros wres ysgafn. Nawr ychwanegwch y cocos a gadewch iddynt gynhesu drywodd (peidiwch a berwi). Ychwanegwch halen a phupur du, rhannwch y cawl rhwng dwy fowlen, ychwanegwch y persli a gweinwch.

English Translation


Ingredients:

225g shelled Penclawdd cockles, cooked
2 thick rashers of smoked streaky bacon, sliced into strips
1 medium onion, diced
4 medium waxy potatoes, cooked, peeled and diced
300ml fish stock
300ml milk
30g butter
fresh curly-leaf parsley, chopped
salt and freshly-ground black pepper, to taste

Method:

Melt the butter in a heavy-based pan then add the onion and bacon and fry until soft (about 6 minutes). Add the potato, fish stock and milk then bring to a simmer and cook gently for 15 minutes over low heat.

Add the cockles and allow to heat through (do not boil). Season to taste, divide between two soup bowls, garnish with curly parsley and serve.
